Marcela Ottonello was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At. The age of four she immigrated with her familiy to the United States where they settled to live in the state of California. Here, she receveid her formal education and began her artistic carreer. Her education was influenced by the double heritage of the enviorment where she grew up and her Argentine origins. The contrast between these two very different societies became even more evident to her as she grew up and have always been an important influence in her Art work.
She, later returned to Argentina and discipled with such painters as Miguel Angel Alardo and Florencio Garavaglia anb received an honorable mention in the art contest Fernan Felix Amador.
En 1989 she had her first individual show in Argentina at the Van Riel Gallery in Buenos Aires and was nominated a finalist in the Arts Society International Achievement Award in the United States. She was selected by Arts Resource of San Francisco for the display of her work in the U.S.A. and was named nember of the American Watercolor Society.
Through the past years she has had numerous exhibitions in different cities of The United States dedicated entirely to the technique of Watercolor for which she has received numerous awards, offering the American Public her unique vision of the urban city scenery of Buenos Aires.
After settling her permanent residence in Buenos Aires, Argentina, her Art work continues to reflect and reach those who form the society that surrounds us everywhere.
Her Art forms part of private and public collections in the United States and Argentina.
